Terms of Service

Last updated 10 June 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Peddler when you use peddler.cc. They cover what Peddler is, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. By creating an account or using the marketplace you accept them.

1. Who we are

Peddler (peddler.cc) is an online marketplace for buying and selling bikes and bike parts in the United Kingdom. When these terms say “we”, “us” or “Peddler”, they mean the operator of peddler.cc. You can reach us through the contact page at peddler.cc/legal/contact.

2. What Peddler is, and what it is not

Peddler is a venue. We provide the tools that let people list, find, discuss, and pay for bikes and parts: listings, search, messaging, offers, held payment, and dispute mediation.

The contract of sale for any item is between the buyer and the seller. Peddler is not a party to that sale. We do not own the items listed, we do not take possession of them, and unless a listing carries an explicit verification badge we have not inspected them.

3. Your account

You must be at least 18 to use Peddler. Keep your account details accurate, keep your sign-in credentials to yourself, and use one account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Onboarding may ask you to verify aspects of your identity, accept these terms, and set your locality so nearby listings work. We may decline, suspend, or close accounts that fail these checks or breach these terms.

4. Selling on Peddler

Listing is free. When you sell, you agree to:

  • Only list items you own and are legally entitled to sell
  • Describe the item honestly: real photos of the actual item, accurate condition, known faults disclosed
  • Provide a truthful frame number if you choose frame verification
  • Post the item promptly, or be present for collection, once a buyer has paid

Selling is free during our launch trial: no success fee is deducted from your proceeds, and there is no listing fee or monthly fee. We will give notice in the app before introducing any seller fee; when we do, it will be a success fee of 2.5% of the sale price, with a 25p minimum, charged only when a sale completes.

5. Buying on Peddler

Buying is free: no buyer fee and no checkout surcharge. You pay the listed price, or the price agreed in an offer thread, plus any postage agreed with the seller.

When you pay, your money is held by our regulated payment partner. The seller is only paid once you confirm the item has arrived or been collected, or once the report window passes without a problem being raised. See the Buyer Protection policy for the full mechanics.

6. Payments

Payments run through a regulated payment partner using bank transfer (open banking). Peddler never holds your money itself. Card payments are not currently supported.

All purchases made on Peddler must be paid through the platform. Payment arranged off the platform is outside these terms and is not covered by Buyer Protection.

7. Cancellations, refunds and disputes

If an order never arrives or arrives significantly not as described, report it from the order page within 48 hours of delivery or collection. Your payment stays held while we investigate. The Buyer Protection policy sets out what is covered, what is not, and how disputes are decided.

Where the seller is a private individual, statutory consumer cancellation rights generally do not apply; where the seller is acting as a business, your consumer rights are unaffected by these terms.

8. Prohibited items and behaviour

The Acceptable Use policy lists what cannot be sold or done on Peddler. In short: no stolen goods, no counterfeits, honest listings, civil conduct. We may remove listings, suspend accounts, hold funds pending investigation, and involve the police where appropriate.

9. Stolen goods

Bikes are the most commonly stolen and resold item in the UK, and we treat this seriously. Our Stolen Goods policy covers frame number checks, reporting, takedowns, and how we work with police. By selling on Peddler you confirm your items are not stolen and consent to the checks described there.

10. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos and text you post. You grant Peddler a licence to display and promote them as part of running the marketplace. Do not post content you do not have the right to use, or content that infringes anyone else's rights.

11. Liability

We provide the marketplace with reasonable skill and care, but to the extent permitted by law we are not liable for the items themselves, for the conduct of buyers or sellers, or for losses arising from transactions completed outside the platform. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms as the product evolves; material changes will be announced in the app, and continuing to use Peddler after a change means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
