Why free
Peddler is new, and the fastest way to build a marketplace worth using is to take nothing while it grows. So for now every sale pays out in full — no success fee, no listing fee, and nothing added at checkout for the buyer.
Free doesn't mean unprotected. Payment still runs through Peddler: the buyer's money is held until the item arrives, and disputes are mediated by us. That protection is part of the platform, not a paid extra.
What changes later
One day Peddler will charge a small success fee on the seller's side, taken only when a sale completes — and it will arrive together with the protection it pays for. Listing and buying stay free. There's no date: it happens when the marketplace has earned it.
